Holiday Greetings from Tara Randel and Karen Rock

In this month of cheer and joyous expectation, Karen and I would like to wish each and every one of you a very happy holiday season.  It’s time to put up the tree, decorate the house, string the lights and wrap the presents. Goodness, but December is a busy month.

To thank all of you for being so supportive of our books, we’re having a Christmas giveaway. Two winners will receive one copy of either The Bridal Bouquet or Christmas at Cade Ranch (Rocky Mountain Cowboy Book One) plus a pair of festive socks. Just a little something from us to you.

In the comments, leave us a picture or story about your most treasured Christmas ornament. We love hearing from you and your comments always put smiles on our faces. We’ll contact the winners on Saturday.

Karen and I are also posting our favorite ornaments.

For Karen, these picture ornaments of her sweet pups, Lizzy and Little Bit, are her favorites. The ornaments are so special to Karen  because her daughter had them made and gifted them to her after Lizzy and Little Bit passed away a couple of years ago. Having them on the tree means they’re still a part of her family at Christmas and will never be forgotten.

My favorite ornament is this Precious Moments couple, representing our first Christmas together after my husband and I were married. It’s been 31 years and he’s still the one I love to open presents with on Christmas morning.

And to get you excited for the new year, Karen and I are thrilled to announce our January 2018 releases, His One and Only Bride and Falling for a Cowboy (Rocky Mountain Cowboys Book Two).

Again, we love hearing from you. Enjoy the holidays and here’s to a bright, shiny New Year!

What a wonderful way to tell you about your soon-to-be-grandchild. Thanks for sharing this touching story and wishing you a very Merry Christmas <3

  13. Actually mine isn't an ornament it is a christmas stocking that a social worker gave all of us in the foster home more than 50 years ago it has our name across the top and it is so pretty ! It was a lot for her to do that for all of us but if she knew how I treasured it and it meant so much as it was the first christmas present that most of us had ever gotten. Especially one from the heart like hers and she wasn't our social worker although she was a wonderful one! ptclayton2@aol.com

  14. my most treasured ornament is a pink angel made with a resin head and stiff crinkle paper gown, plus wings of course.

I bought it for myself in 1994. I was at a Christmas ornament exchange party, and all the women were fighting over an angel ornament. I found out where it had been purchased, and bought it there. I was really sick that year--diagnosed with an incurable, but treatable chronic disease--so it was a nice little treat for myself.

  15. I have my grandmother’s handmade ornaments...some cross stitch ones, a knitted Bell and a crotchet snowflake. I gave my mom her old glass ones, as I didn’t want our cats to break them. My grandma would have been 103 today ❤️

    1. First, happy birthday, in spirit, to grandma. I have some handmade ornaments myself, including ones I cross stitched years ago and still hang on the tree. I also have a cat, but thankfully she doesn't bother the tree. Merry Christmas!

    2. Hi, Cheryl! I have crotchet doilies from my grandmother but not an ornament. That must be so special. And you were right to give the glass ornaments to your mom. If your cats are like my Angel- they would have them off in a second :) Happy Holidays

  16. I can’t say that I have just one favorite Christmas ornament because I have several. Our daughter went to her heavenly home when she was a mere 17 years old. So every year, we have a special tree that we put up with just the ornaments that she cherished from her childhood. This tree with these ornaments are very special to both hubby and I. It brings back sweet memories of our young family and the joys of Christmas’ past.
Enjoyed seeing your special ornaments. I love Precious Moments and have an angel collection I started after Jenet’s passing. We also have brass picture ornaments on our tree. One has photos of hubby and I went we got married 34 years ago, one is of Jenet when she was little and then of course Snickerdoodle has his photo ornament on the tree as well.

Thank you for the chance to win a fabulous Christmas giveaway!

    1. Kay, I understand completely. My daughter passed at 23 and when I could finally put up a tree, I use the one she purchased when she lived on her own. I mix her ornaments in with family favorites. Such bittersweet memories. Merry Christmas!

    2. Kay and Tara- I can't imagine your loss and want to wrap my arms around you both and say how strong you both are and how wonderfully you honor your girls. I know they must feel that love in Heaven and return it to you tenfold. They are surely with you now and throughout the year.

  17. Mine is our first ornament that we bought as a couple 25 years ago. It looks like a house window & it's got a picture of us kissing inside. It's so cute! I'd send a picture but my cat is sleeping on my lap & he takes exception when I get up. LOL!! Merry Christmas Y'all!!!
