Heartwarming Interview at USA Today's HEA Blog! By Rula Sinara

Picture

I began interviewing authors shortly after the birth of my blog, A Writer's Rush, in 2010. You can imagine how thrilled I was when, last year, I was invited to interview Harlequin authors for USA Today's Happy Ever After Blog. In fact, my very first HEA interview posted last September and featured Harlequin Superromance author, Liz Talley.

Today, my first Heartwarming interview is up at HEA! Many thanks to Karen Rock for being a great sport and for writing a beautiful, touching story. Check out Karen's interview HERE and find out about the real life story that inspired Wish Me Tomorrow

May you all have a heartwarming day and a happy ever after :)

  5. Thank you so much, Rula! You are such a talented writer, whether it is fiction or non-fiction. I thoroughly enjoyed answering your thoughtful questions. They really got me gabbing :) I'm sure your editor must have thought- ahhhhhhh-word count! You are such an excellent interviewer because you know exactly the right questions to help people open up and share the types of answers readers want to know. I can't wait to read your upcoming novel and give you all of the incredible support you've given me and the Heartwarming line! ((Hugs))

  7. Karen - Thank YOU! You made my day :). Hugs back at ya ;)

Muriel - Thanks!! Wait until you reach the end. It grabbed me by the heart.

You know, this line is a gold mine for an interviewer because the the stories are so deep and layered and the authors behind them are fascinating. Lots of room for digging ;).

    Go Heartwarming!

  8. Great interview Rula and Karen. I always enjoy Rula's interviews but this was really interesting as it provided some background to the book I'd just finished reading.

I wish I has finished it one day sooner so I could have commented on the day of this blog. I truly enjoyed Wish Me Tomorrow. It was such a well layered story. I loved the three dogs, two kids, Gran, Laura, John and all the other well thought out secondary characters. Christie and Eli were an awesome heroine and hero. The most important factor for me in reading a story of this nature is that the story is within my believable factor. It was life at it's best and worst.

Now I want to know more about Laura who seems to live an most ordinary and useful life even though she comes from a moneyed background.

    2. Hi Kaelee! Thank you so much for your warm comments about WISH ME TOMORROW :) I'm thrilled that you loved Eli and Christie's story and the characters that lived in their world. I agree that believability is the most important factor in contemporary romances! When I wrote the story, I wanted it to be layered in that, the more you peeled back the surface, the more complex the motivations, fears, wants, and needs became. My favorite stories reflect life honestly and I hope I've done that in this novel. As for Laura- I'm hopeful she'll have a book soon :) I adore her character! I have another contract for more Heartwarmings, but unfortunately, not one for her story yet... I'll keep trying until I have a romance that is perfect for her :)

  9. Thank you, Kaelee! I had the same experience...the connection between the story and what Karen reveals in the interview made the experience even richer for me :). It was like going behind the scenes so to speak. I can't wait for book 2 (but I'm curious about Laura too ;).
